The DHLH Committee is a standing welfare committee of SMACS LTD SACCO established to promote the well-being, good conduct, unity and togetherness of members. A SACCO is more than savings and credit; it is also a community built around healthy, disciplined, happy and connected members.

My Journey with SMACS LTD

Moses Tumwijukye joined SMACS LTD in 2017 and has grown with the SACCO through consistent saving, borrowing and active participation in SACCO activities.

Leadership Roles

In 2022, he was entrusted by members to serve as a committee member.
The Executive subsequently elevated him to Chairperson of the DHLH Committee.
He serves on the Loans Committee, participating in the vetting, appraisal and approval of loans.
Moses coordinates the SACCO's Tours & Travel programme, promoting affordability, safety, bonding and learning.

Vision & Commitment

His vision is to support the financial and social well-being of members and help make SMACS LTD a community where members feel supported, disciplined, healthy, happy and motivated to save with a goal.

Sensitization on the Code of Conduct, loan repayment and savings discipline.
Handling misconduct and breaches of regulations with appropriate corrective action.
Mediating conflicts while promoting integrity, respect and responsible membership.

Members' Health & Welfare Fund support for sickness, bereavement and maternity.

Explore Tours & Travel

The Tours and Travel Package is the DHLH's flagship programme. Previous and related trips have covered Western Uganda, Northern Uganda and Nairobi/Mombasa, while future trips may include additional destinations.

A package for members and non-members

The programme is open to both SACCO members and non-members. Members can benefit from subsidized rates, while non-members participate through the applicable package fee. Members can also plan and save toward trips through the SACCO's flexible “Lipa Pole Pole” approach.
